ABOUT THE COURSE

The SAHCS Advanced Clinical HIV Management online course for doctors is a self-paced online course. The aim of the course is to provide doctors with regional up-to-date knowledge and expertise on HIV and related diseases. It develops the clinician’s abilities to effectively manage HIV and its complications, and to provide leadership in HIV prevention, treatment and care. The content was originally developed by experts in the field of HIV medicine and continues to be updated and reviewed by experts.

WHO SHOULD ENROL
This course is for qualified medical doctors seeing patients vulnerable to HIV and living with HIV in the private and public sectors, and for those looking to complete a Diploma in HIV Medicine through the Colleges of Medicine Southern Africa (CMSA).
 
ASSESSMENT
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be used to assess the content of each module. A final exam, also in the form of MCQs, will be provided at the end of the course. The pass-mark is 70%.

DURATION
The course is self-paced but the typical length of time to work through the content and complete the course is 4 months. However, access to the course and final assessment is provided for a maximum of 6 months following successful registration.  
 
EARN CPD POINTS
The course is CPD-accredited for 29 Clinical + 1 ethics points (total 30 CPD points) subject to completion of the course and a 70% and above pass mark on the in-module MCQs and the final assessment.
