ABOUT THE COURSE

The Southern African HIV Clinicians Society has taken over the management of a two-week intensive Advanced Clinical HIV Management Course from Wits RHI.This course has been running since 2003 and is broadly recognised as the course that supports the Diploma in HIV Management through the Colleges of Medicine SA. Wits RHI have entrusted the Society with converting the course to e-Learning. We have updated and refined the content with the country’s experts in HIV management, to deliver the most up-to-date information in a digital, blended learning environment. Currently, this course is for doctors only, but the Society is committed to developing a portfolio of courses for all healthcare workers over time. Watch this space!

COST

The cost of the course is R6,900 (incl. VAT).

 

 

EARN CPD POINTS

The course is fully CPD-accredited for 29 Clinical + 1 ethics points subject to a 70% and above pass mark of written and oral assessments.
Should you be an experienced clinician, wanting to join the provider network, you are only required to write (and pass) the online exam. The cost of the exam is R1,000 and you qualify for 3 CPD points.

 

DURATION

The typical maximum length of time given to complete the course is 16 weeks. However, SAHCS provides 6 months to complete the course. MCQs will be used to assess each module and a final exam will be written upon completion.

WHO SHOULD ENROL?

Qualified doctors who treat HIV-positive patients and/or who wish to complete the Diploma of HIV Medicine, through the Colleges of Medicine, South Africa.
