Case Objective: At the end of this case study, the reader should be able to interpret a genotypic resistance test in the context of the clinical history and demonstrate some understanding of resistance to second-line antiretroviral regimens that contain protease inhibitors. They should also be able to describe common adverse events on standard second-line antiretroviral regimens and to list some antiretroviral agents that could be used in third-line regimens.
