Interested in joining the Southern African HIV Clinicians Society (SAHCS)? 

All health care providers interested in HIV and in supporting the SAHCS's mission to promote evidence-based, high quality HIV care are invited to complete an application. 

 

As a member of SAHCS you can:

  • access the membership portal on the SAHCS website and search for other members, view your SAHCS CPD certificates, update your profile information and so much more.
  • receive an annual printed version of the PubMed Central® accredited Southern African Journal of HIV Medicine.
  • receive information on shortages and stock outs of essential medicines.
  • receive electronic HIV/TB-related updates, guidelines and articles.
  • receive invitations to CPD-accredited CME meetings and seminars that occur periodically around the country.
  • opt to receive quarterly printed issues of HIV Nursing Matters.
  • recommend SAHCS practice guideline topics and provide comments on practice guidelines under development.
  • vote for the SAHCS Board of Directors and on other organisation business at the SAHCS Annual General Meeting.
  • create a listing on the SAHCS online provider directory, which provides health care users with referrals for doctors and other providers who see HIV patients in the private sector.
  • apply for bursaries or discounted registration to attend the SAHCS biennial conference.

 

The membership fees are as follows:

  • Doctors: R400 per annum
  • Nurses and allied health professionals: R300 per annum
  • Discounted packages are available for organisations (NGO) that wish to arrange group membership. This amounts to R3500/annum for 10 members or R6000/annum for 20 members.
